2008 Campground Policies
Disregard or violation of these campground
policies, or any federal, state, county or local laws or regulations, can
result in eviction of visitors from the campground with no refund and/or fines
from the National Park Service or other law enforcement authority.
1) General:
• ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE PROHIBITED.
• Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM. Quiet hours are strictly enforced.
• Gasoline generators are prohibited.
• The use of fireworks is prohibited.
• Chainsaws and axes are prohibited.
• The discharge or display of firearms is prohibited. All firearms must be
properly cased and safely stored in your vehicle while on campground property.
• Trespassing on other campsites is prohibited. Respect the privacy of others.
• Keep valuables locked in your vehicle. Dingmans Campground will not be held
responsible for lost or stolen property.
• Follow the instructions and direction of the campground staff and National
Park Service representatives.
• Please supervise your children and guests. You will be held responsible for
the actions of your children and guests.
• Leave your campsite cleaner than you found it. You are responsible for the
removal and proper disposal of all trash from your campsite.
2) Campsites:
• Campsites are limited to 5, 10, and 15 people and 1, 2, and
3 vehicles per site respectively.
3) Environmental:
• Littering is prohibited (including cigarette butts). Please thoroughly
extinguish cigarettes, wet the butts with water and dispose of the wet butts
with the trash.
• Do not harm trees. Nailing trees for hanging hooks is prohibited.
• Picking flowers, gathering or digging up plants or trees is prohibited.
• Taking branches off live trees for firewood or marshmallow sticks is
prohibited. Marshmallow sticks will be sold in the campground store.
• The collection of firewood from the forest or cutting firewood is prohibited.
• Do not use water supply spigots for cleaning.
• Must use restrooms to insure sanitation.
• Remove all trash from the campsite and dispose of it at the solid waste
handling facilities at the campground entrance.
4) Wildlife:
• Feeding wildlife is prohibited.
• Respect wildlife. Do not chase, harm or trap wild animals.
• To prevent attracting bears into the campground, store all food and food
waste in your vehicle at night or when you leave your site.
5) Visitors:
• Visitors are permitted between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
• All visitors must register in the campground office.
• Visitors must park in the overflow parking lot at the campground entrance.
• No visitor vehicles are permitted on the campground property.
6) Pets:
• Maximum of two (2) pets per campsite.
• Pet waste must be picked up and properly disposed of.
• Pets are not allowed in buildings.
• Pets must be leashed or restrained at all times.
• Pets must not be left unattended.
• Pets are subject to the same quiet hours as humans.
• You will be held responsible for any damage or harm caused by your pet.
7) Traffic Safety:
• Campground speed limit is 5 MPH. Speed limit is strictly enforced.
• Some campground roads are one way. Follow one way signs and arrows.
• Vehicles are only permitted on gravel roads and not beyond barriers.
8) Fire Safety:
• Campfires must be kept small and within the confines of the fire ring.
• Do not leave fires unattended.
• Do not relocate fire rings.
• The use of accelerants or flammable liquids for starting campfires is
prohibited (gasoline, fuel oil, kerosene or grill lighter fluid).
• Do not put glass, metal or plastic materials into the fire or leave these
materials in the fire circle. Recycle these materials in the appropriate
recycling bins at the solid waste handling facilities at the campground
entrance.
• Campfire must be fully extinguished when not attended.
9) Vehicles & Parking:
• All vehicles must be registered with make, model, year, license plate number
and state of registration in the campground office at the time of registration.
• All vehicles on the campground property must properly display a current
vehicle pass on the dashboard of the vehicle while on the premises.
• Motorcycles must be licensed and used only on the facility roads.
• The use of motorcycles on trails is prohibited.
• Campsite parking is limited to 1 vehicle per tent. All other vehicles must be
parked in the overflow parking lot at the campground entrance.
• Honor no parking signs.
• Parked vehicles must not obstruct traffic flow through the campground.
10) Recreational Vehicles / Trailers:
• Only one (1) RV or trailer unit is permitted per campsite.
• No appliances are permitted to be stored outside of the RV.
• No expansion or additions to trailers are permitted.
• No planting or landscaping around trailers is permitted.
• No storage compartments shall be placed on the campsites.
• The space under trailers is not permitted for storage.
• RV’s and trailers must not obstruct traffic flow through the campground.
• RV and trailer stays are limited to two weeks (14 consecutive days).
11) Bathhouse & Restroom Facilities:
• Please help keep the bathroom facilities clean. Please clean up after
yourself and your children.
• Please be sensitive to the needs of other campers when using the shower
facilities. If there are people waiting to use the showers, please keep your
shower short.
• Conserve fresh water by keeping your showers short.
